Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. Conversion happens in your browser on this device. Your selected images are not sent to Toolinet for processing.

Which format should I choose?

Use JPG for photos and broad compatibility, PNG for lossless transparency, WebP for websites, AVIF for very small modern web images, and BMP only when older software requires it.

Will animated GIF or WebP stay animated?

No. The converter exports the first visible frame as a still image.

Convert image files directly in your browser without uploading them to a server. Toolinet’s Image Format Converter handles single files and batches while giving you control over format, quality, dimensions, transparency and file names.

Convert JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and SVG

Add images by choosing files, dragging them into the converter or pasting from your clipboard. The tool reads common web image formats and converts them to JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or BMP. Output availability is checked in your browser, so an unsupported option is automatically disabled instead of producing a broken file.

Batch conversion with one ZIP download

Process up to 40 images in one batch. Each result shows its new file size and whether it became smaller or larger than the original. Download images individually or package every successful result into one ZIP file. Prefix and suffix controls help keep filenames organized for websites, product catalogs and content workflows.

Quality, resize and transparency controls

Which image format should you choose?

Format Best for Transparency
JPG Photos, email and broad compatibility No
PNG Logos, screenshots and lossless graphics Yes
WebP Modern websites and smaller web images Yes
AVIF Very efficient modern web delivery Yes
BMP Legacy desktop software and uncompressed workflows No

JPG is usually the safest option for photographs and sharing. PNG is better when crisp text, flat colors or transparency matters. WebP often offers a strong balance of quality, file size and browser support. AVIF can produce smaller files but may take longer to encode and is not available in every browser. BMP creates much larger files and should be used only when another program specifically requires it.

Private image conversion on your device

Your selected images are processed locally by your browser. They are not uploaded to Toolinet for conversion. This keeps the workflow fast and helps protect private photos, design files and client assets. The page and program files still load from the website, but the image data you choose stays on the device during processing.

Important conversion notes

Animated GIF and animated WebP files are exported as a single still frame. Converting a small or heavily compressed image cannot recreate missing detail. Repeated lossy conversion can reduce quality, so keep the original file and inspect fine text, gradients and edges before replacing production assets. Browser memory limits also vary by device; for very large images, resize the source or process fewer files at once.
